On behalf of the Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce on the occasion of its 140th Anniversary.

In the past century, Hong Kong has developed from a small fishing village into a world-class metropolis. Over these years, our businessmen and traders have continued to play a pivotal role in fostering Hong Kong's economic developments.

The Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce has evolved with Hong Kong throughout the years. Founded in 1861 with initially 62 members, the Chamber has now become one of Hong Kong's largest and most representative business organizations, comprising approximately 4,000 member companies.

The Chamber has made enormous contributions towards the remarkable development of Hong Kong's trade and industry in the past. I am most confident that the Chamber will continue to make outstanding achievements in promoting, representing and safeguarding the interests of the Hong Kong business community, and I wish the Chamber further success and strength in the years to come.

Chan Wing Kee
President
The Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong
