Hotels in Beijing for business travellers

h3.jpg (14730 bytes)As the Asian economy expands, more business travellers are arriving in Beijing, and are finding that there is a hotel to suit every need and budget

Beijing boasts 392 starred hotels. Twenty of those are five-star properties, 34 four-star, 126 three-star, 168 two-star and 44 are one-star hotels. So whatever way you look at it, discerning business travellers have a vast selection of local and international hotels offering standards and services to meet all budgets and needs.

With business gradually starting to pick up for the city's hoteliers after the Asian economic crisis, the hotel industry is experiencing a sustained increase of both domestic and international travellers staying in the capital. As a result, international hotel chains are beginning to shift their business development focus to Asia. Swissotel Beijing, one of the city's leading five-star hotel chains, for example, is actively marketing itself to this important region.

The recent opening of the Swissotel's sales office in Shanghai is also part of an on-going business strategy to boost both its domestic and international market share, while maintaining the strong brand recognition of Swissotel in one of the most prosperous metropolitan cities in China.

Other hotels are opening in Beijing to capture a slice of this burgeoning market, among which is the 595-room Oriental Harbour Plaza Beijing, which is scheduled to open in mid-2001.
