A 14-member delegation from
the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC) led by Mr Simon Lee, JP, member of the
General Committee of HKGCC, will depart for Israel on April 6 for a six-day business and
technology study mission. The mission aims to learn more about Israel's state-of-the-art
industrial and technological developments, and to enhance mutually beneficial business
cooperation between Hong Kong and Israel.
The delegation will meet with high calibre
personalities including Mr Reuven Horsesh, Director General of the Ministry of Trade &
Industry of Israel, Mr Netanel Liram, Director General of the Jerusalem Chamber of
Commerce, Mr Dan Gillerman, President of the Federation of the Israeli Chambers of
Commerce, and Mr Baruch Gross, President of Israel-Asia Chamber of Commerce. Delegates
will also pay visits to the Israeli Export Institute, Matam R&D Hi-Tech Industrial
Park, Orange Partner, ECI Telecom, etc.
Mr Lee said, "Israel is the second most
high-tech country in the world. During the trip, mission delegates can see for themselves
the latest technological development in Israel and hope to develop useful contacts for
future business. It is important for Hong Kong businessmen to learn from Israel's
experience and apply their technical know-how on the industries here in Hong Kong".
The trip is organized with the full support of the Consulate General of Israel in Hong
Kong and delegates will return to Hong Kong on April 12.
