China Attracts More Overseas Investment in First Seven Months

China attracted more overseas direct investment during the first seven months of this year, figures released by China's Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (MOFTEC) Wednesday show.

During this period, China approved 14,058 overseas-funded enterprises, representing a rise of 18.22 percent over the same period of last year.

The contracted volume of overseas investment increased by 45.77 percent over the same period of last year, to reach 40.293 billion U.S. dollars, 24.209 billion of which has been put into China, up 21.68 percent. By the end of July, China had approved a total of 378,403 overseas-funded enterprises with a total contracted overseas investment volume of 717.012 billion U.S. dollars, and 372.833 billion U.S. dollars had been put into China.
