Company Background

WH Group is the largest pork company in the world, with number one positions in China, the U.S. and key markets in Europe. Our unique global platform integrates hog production, hog slaughtering and the processing and distribution of packaged meats and fresh pork, placing us in the number one position in all of the key segments of the pork industry.

Business Activities

We are a majority shareholder in Henan Shuanghui Investment & Development Co., Ltd. ("Shuanghui Development") (www.shuanghui.net), China's largest meat processing business, and own Smithfield Foods, Inc. (www.smithfieldfoods.com), a global food company. We also have a 37% shareholding in Campofrio Food Group, S.A. (www.campofriofoodgroup.com), the largest pan-European packaged meat products company and one of the largest companies in the global processed meats sector. In 2013, WH Group recorded sales of more than US$20 billion.
We currently operate our business through three main segments, namely our packaged meat products segment, fresh pork segment and hog production segment. In addition, we engage in other businesses which are ancillary to our primary business segments. In China, these mainly include manufacturing and sales of packaging materials, provision of logistics services, operating a chain of retail grocery stores, producing flavoring ingredients and natural casings, and biological pharmaceuticals.
WH Group was formerly known as Shuanghui International, and renamed itself to its current form in January 2014 to reflect its emerging global reach and aspirations as a world-leading brand.
