Company Background

The SIA Group’s history dates back to 1947 as Malayan Airways Limited and launched the first Hong Kong service in 1958. The airline was later renamed Malaysian Airways Limited and then Malaysia-Singapore Airlines (MSA). In 1972, Singapore Airlines (SIA) was formed and has become the world’s most-awarded airline with a commitment to service excellence, product leadership and network connectivity.

Singapore Airlines made aviation history in October 2007 as the first to fly the world's largest passenger aircraft, the Airbus A380. In July 2009, SIA achieved a Hong Kong aviation milestone by introducing the city’s first scheduled A380 service.

Today, Singapore Airlines flies seven daily flights from Hong Kong to Singapore, and one daily non-stop flight to San Francisco, providing our customers with greater flexibility in choosing the flight that best fits their schedule. As at 1 April 2017, together with wholly owned subsidiaries SilkAir, Scoot, Tigerair and SIA Cargo, the SIA Group’s combined network covers 137 destinations around the world.

En route, our customers can expect enhanced comfort, increased personal space and functionality in the latest First, Business, Premium Economy and Economy Class cabin, as well as our highly advanced in-flight entertainment system, Krisworld, brought together by the award-winning in-flight service.

From 2017, customers departing from Hong Kong can enjoy an improved travelling experience from the A350-900 aircraft. With advanced technology and superior operating efficiency, the newest addition to the Airline’s fleet offer customers with features such as higher ceilings, larger windows, an extra wide body and lighting designed to reduce jetlag, together with with our latest-generation in-flight cabin products,
