Company Background

Established in 1989 by the Hong Kong Government, The Open University of Hong Kong started off as a pioneer in providing higher education opportunities to all aspiring students through open and flexible learning.

There are five Schools in the University. They are Arts and Social Sciences, Lee Shau Kee School of Business and Administration, Science and Technology, Education and Languages, and the Li Ka Shing Institute of Professional and Continuing Education.

Today the University has 9,000 full-time undergraduate students, 550 face-to-face postgraduate students and about 10,000 distance learning and e-learning students. Qualifications awarded by the University are fully recognized by the Hong Kong SAR Government, educational institutions, professional associations, accreditation bodies, and employers in Hong Kong and overseas.

Business Activities

Lee Shau Kee School of Business and Administration is one of the academic schools of the OUHK. Currently, the School offers more than 50 programmes in face-to-face, blended learning and distance learning modes leading to the award of qualifications from undergraduate level to postgraduate level. There are also CPD courses and modules in e-learning mode for professionals.

The School comprises experienced academics and professionals with diverse international backgrounds to equip students not only with conventional theories, but also practical skills in business, giving them a distinct competitive edge in the ever-changing business world.

Recognizing the importance of networking in the field of business, the School is active in fostering collaborations with both local and overseas tertiary institutions and professional bodies. Now it has collaborated with partners in Mainland China, Myanmar and Australia. The School’s business programmes are also recognized by a number of professional bodies and a range of exemptions has been granted to graduates and students.
