What's On

Many businesses often have to deal with public bodies- whether it's applying for consent for a project, trying to persuade them to take action, responding to enquiries or consultations, or defending an investigation. Dealing with public bodies is not the same as dealing with other businesses and individual customers, and different skills and approaches are required. Given the increase in regulation through bodies such as the Competition Commission, Customs and Excise Department, and Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, a particular focus will be given to handling investigations by the authorities. This workshop will give you practical tips on how to manage relationships with public bodies most effectively.

Speaker(s) Bill Brown, Senior Consultant, Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce
Bill has over 30 years' work experience in the field of competition law and economic regulation. His previous roles included being a partner in a major commercial law firm and an in-house counsel to companies, and serving for regulatory agencies. The ability to evaluate the issues from both the businesses' and the regulator's perspectives makes him well placed to give practical guidance in this workshop.
