Shih Wing Chingstarted Centaline Property Agency in 1978 at the age of 29with just HK$10,000 . Today the company is a household name, employing 47,000 staff in 1,800 branches across Hong Kong, the Mainland, Macau, Singapore and Taiwan.In 2005, he surprised many by investing around HK$100 million of his saving to launch the free tabloid am730. The paper has grown in popularity -- largely due to his adventurous, entrepreneurial spirit -- and today has a daily circulation of 400,000 copies. On his 60th birthday, Shih used his shares in am730 and Centaline – worth billions of dollars – to set up Shih Wing Ching Foundation, which helps rural villagers in Mainland China.
