Taxation Committee

Terms of Reference

1) Mission

  • To study and to advise the General Committee and Chamber Directorate on taxation and related Government revenue matters likely to affect trade, commerce, industry, finance or services in Hong Kong.

2) Membership

  • The Committee is open to members of the Chamber who are professionally able to contribute to the work of the Committee. Such persons would normally be accountants, lawyers or others specialising in taxation matters.
  • Chamber individual associate members who wish to apply as observers to the Committee should possess similar qualifications.
  • Committee membership is subject to agreement by the committee chairman and the Chamber CEO.
  • Members may nominate others similarly qualified to attend meetings on their behalf by prior arrangement with the Committee Chairman.
  • Members should observe the "Guidelines for HKGCC Committees".

3) Objectives

  • To initiate research of taxation and related Government revenue matters affecting trade, commerce, industry, finance or services.
  • To liaise as necessary with other committees of the Chamber and with other commercial, industrial and professional associations and with government, both locally and internationally.
  • To carry out such other related work as the General Committee or the Directorate may request.
