Kindness Walk

Members of the Young Executives Club spent a day in Sham Shui Po distributing food and necessities to street sleepers and those experiencing homelessness. The Kindness Walk, held on 2 June, was organized by ImpactHK, an NGO committed to building community connections and increase awareness about the underprivileged.

YEC and Chiu Chow Chamber of Commerce Happy Hour

The Young Executives Club and the Hong Kong Chiu Chow Chamber of Commerce jointly organized a happy hour on 25 April at ZFU Club, Central. More than 40 Chamber members had an enjoyable evening mixing with other young executives over drinks and pizza. The guests joined YEC Chairman Olivia Kung in a toast to stronger ties and collaborative opportunities between the two organizations.

Visit the Kai Tak Sports Park VIP Experience Centre

Due to overwhelming response, the Chamber organized two tours to visit the Kai Tak Sports Park VIP Experience Centre on 9 February and 2 Mar respectively. The park will be opened in phrases starting from the end of 2023. Once opened, it is expected to draw millions of people every year and will be the biggest sports venue in Hong Kong that will set the benchmark for entertainment and recreation precincts worldwide.

The scale of the park is enormous. When it is completed in 2024, dozens of athletic facilities, including a 50,000-seats main stadium, a 10,000-seat indoor sports centre, 1 5,000-seat public sports ground , and outdoor event space, a health and wellness centre, and a water front “ dining cove”, will be spread out over 28 hectares of the former Kai Tak airport. It aims to be part of people’s daily lives, rather than just a place for major events.

60 YEC members not only visiting the experience centre to learn more about the project and its facilities including retail, wellness and community leisure spaces, but also had priority to experience the VIP lounge service upon the completion of the Kai Tak Sports Stadium. The visit was hosted by YEC Vice Chairman Jacky Cheung and Manfred Lau. Members had a wonderful networking time after the tour and look forward to the project completion.

HKGCC Business Case Competition 2022

Five teams of university students were awarded winners of the 2022 HKGCC Business Case Competition to win internship opportunities, a one-year HKGCC student membership, and cash prizes.More than 500 students from various universities in Hong Kong came up with some 140 proposals for the competition themed “Evolving Business in a Changing World.” Each of the competition’s five sponsors -- Chinachem Group, Jardine Matheson, NWS Holdings, Sino Group and Swire Group – set a specific business case for the students to come up with possible solutions. Topics ranged from cutting-edge technologies to wellness and philanthropy.The final on 13 January marked the fourth time that HKGCC has held the contest. It was fantastic to see the level of enthusiasm among students and their creativity continues to grow every year. The competition provides students with a fantastic opportunity to apply text book knowledge they have learned to real-life situations.Each winning team of individual company challenges received a cash prize of HK$30,000, and the chance to have an internship at the company, while the first and second runners up received HK$20,000 and HK$10,000 respectively.
